To use the RENAMER first select two or more items to be renamed in the library panel. You can access it from the top toolbar in the Commands drop down menu.

It is important to give unique names to TWEEN and SHAPE symbols to avoid confilcts. You can also group items by giving them the same prefix.
Commands and Window Panels are installed with the extension manager. After downloading the command through the link above, unzip the file with STUFFIT. Then double click the MXP file to open Extension Manager. Follow the prompts and your new command will be available from the Commands drop down on the top toolbar in Flash.

You can use this renaming command two ways: if the sequential numbers boxes are left UNCHECKED, the text you enter at the top is added to the beginning of the original library name.

       
To totally change the names of selected items in the library check the box labeled "Replace original name..." The names will be replaced by whatever text you enter at the top along with a sequence of numbers. The items are numbered starting from 1 unless you enter another number in the box.
 
  This is an essential tool for storyboarding when you have a template of scene symbols that have to be renamed with each new act and episode.
